If you’re not quite sure diving is for you then the Discover Scuba Diving/Bubblemaker course is the perfect way to get your feet wet. Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to the underwater world where you’ll get to feel what it’s like to breathe underwater. While not an actual scuba certification course, you’ll still complete basic training in a pool under the direct supervision of one of our certified PADI professionals. This can also be adapted for a school program.
Ready to take the plunge into the world’s most popular scuba course? We cover the fundamentals of scuba diving, learn about equipment and dive techniques through pool dives and knowledge development sessions. This is the first two steps in your passport to the underwater world. Once you have finished the course all you will need to do is complete the 4 Open Water dives at your chosen location. You will then be qualified for life as a PADI Open Water Diver and be able to dive anywhere in the world up to 18 metres. This can also be adapted for a school program.
Has it been a while since your last dive and you are looking to head off on holiday? Then the Blue Marlin program is the perfect way to refresh your skills. Our Refresher course is designed to cover a majority of the skills you would have learnt on your initial open water course. This is ideal for those who have either been out of the water over a year.
Are you ready for your big adventure? You should be! You are about to embark on a journey exploring a whole new world untouched by the frantic pace of everyday life. However, as scuba diving is a technical sport, all scuba courses require personal study time to master theory. If you’d like to clear your holiday/travel time and get a head start on your scuba ‘homework’, we recommend PADI’s E-Learning.
Learning to scuba dive has never been more convenient! Whether you’re on the go or want to take it slow, complete the knowledge development portion of your PADI course online before you arrive. The e-learning module is fairly self-explanatory but if you have any questions during the study process, please feel free to contact us. Please note that e-learning does end up being more expensive as you will pay PADI directly for the theory portion of the course on top of Blue Marlin’s discounted course price.
Why Choose eLearning?
Before you arrive at your chosen Blue Marlin, you must be sure that you are in a suitable physical condition for the sport of diving. At the start of the course, every student must complete and sign a PADI Medical Statement, which includes a number of questions relating to your medical history. By answering the questions, you will discover if you’ll require a doctor’s check-up before taking to the water. (PADI insists on this if your medical history shows a ‘contra-indication’ to participating in diving.)
Answer each question carefully. If you are unsure of the answer to any of the questions, you should answer “yes”. Sign and date the bottom of your statement.
If any of the answers you give to the questions are “yes”, visit your doctor for a medical examination, taking your statement with you to show him/her*.
If your doctor is satisfied with your health, you are ready to start your course. However, you must bring BOTH your signed Medical Statement and your doctor’s clearance with you, as we are required to keep these with your training records.
