The Open Water Course is the first level in recreational scuba diving and introduces people to a whole new world underwater. On the course you learn basic theory of diving and build on your skills so that you become more comfortable on every dive. Your are taught by our experienced instructors that make you feel at ease and enjoy every minute. (3 days)

Course Components

Theory
You will be required to read the Open Water manual and complete the knowledge reviews at the end of each of the five chapters. Each diver will also watch a supplementary DVD that will preview skills taught by your instructor in addition to aiding visual learners. Once completed, your instructor will review any mistakes that you made or answer any questions about the course or diving in general. There is a multiple choice exam at the end of the
program which tests your knowledge of the dive theory learned through out.

Pool Work
Each course begins with confined water pool sessions where you will learn about the equipment you will be using and your introduction to the skills needed to become a certified diver. This is also where you will gain experience in controlling your buoyancy and practice safety procedures needed to become safe and responsible divers.

Open Water Dives
On the Open Water course you will complete four open water dives in the ocean. The first two dives are to a maximum of 12 metres while the final two are to 18 metres, your depth rating upon course completion. We try to get our divers in the ocean on the very first day to experience the beauty of the underwater world and get you excited for more.

To enroll in the Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be at least 10 years of age.

If you are limited on time or interested in spending less time in the classroom, consider completing the theory online with PADI eLearning. Blue Marlin charges IDR 4.900.000 for the e-learning course and an additional AUD 180 is payable to PADI directly.

Equipment rental, PADI Open Water E-Manual, Dive planner, Certification and Logbook are all included.
