We offer tailor-made packages to suit the needs of every diver, with the possibility to jump aboard our custom made, 13 metre fibreglass speed-boat for up to 3 daily fun dives, or by staying aboard Ikan Biru, our wooden liveaboard dive boat, permanently stationed within the National Park boundaries. You decide the length of your stay on Ikan Biru, allowing unrivalled flexibility for you to enjoy Komodo diving to its fullest.

Fun Dives (Speedboat)

Leaving early in the morning, our fully equipped, fast and comfortable fibreglass speedboat will take you to any of the first-class Komodo National Park dive sites, where you will be guided by our experienced divemasters for the first dive of the day. Surfacing from dive one, you will be served fresh fruits and tea or coffee.

After a relaxing surface interval, you will move to the next site for another stunning dive within the National Park. A light lunch will be served after surfacing from the second dive, and you will be allowed some time to rest and log all the fishes, worms, corals and crustaceans discovered on those two dives, while we take you in comfort to the third and last dive of the day.

Getting back to our land-based dive centre, fully-sated and satisfied, you will be invited to join us for an extensive debrief in the restaurant bar while the sun is setting over the now calm and serene National Park. (Dive sites are weather dependent and are chosen to suit the diver’s training/experience level.)

Ikan Biru (Liveaboard)

c_171_171_16777215_00_images_ikanbiru1.jpg

A revolutionary idea in terms of traditional liveaboard arrangements, our service allows guests to choose their very own dive trip schedule. No longer do you have to tailor your trip to the strict, inflexible boundaries of organised dive expeditions that may or may not fit within the allotted time for your holiday. Our open-schedule means that guests can join our voyages on any date, during any day of the week! We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you onto Ikan Biru via speedboat. You can stay for as long as you wish and disembark at any time! With no “fixed schedule, ” Blue Marlin Komodo offers a unique “hop-on, hop-off” service with luxury speed boat drops. Choose when and for how long!

The Ikan Biru is a modernised version of a traditional Indonesian Phinisi wooden sailing boat. Sleeping a maximum of just 7 guests, dives are conducted in small groups for your enjoyment and added safety. The vessel boasts a spacious upper deck for guests to relax, dine and sleep under the stars in absolute comfort. The two below-deck guest bathrooms are fitted with hot fresh-water showers. There is also an onboard music system. Ikan Biru has a fully equipped kitchen with two fridge/freezers, beer/wine cooler and gas cook top/oven.

Ikan Biru is equipped with modern marine safety equipment and an extremely experienced sailing and dive crew in accordance with marine tourism guidelines. When your day’s diving is complete, there are stand up paddle boards (SUP) for guests to explore the clear shallow waters around the deserted islands of Komodo National Park.

Sleeping arrangements: Guests sleep on the upper deck under the stars on luxurious purpose-made mattresses and bedding set-up by the crew each night. The upper deck is protected by a roof cover in case it rains, a rarity in Komodo National Park.
Below decks, the forward cabin has eight lockers, one each for guest’s personal belongings and a guest bathroom with hot fresh water shower, sink and toilet.
The aft-cabin (cruise-director) is situated alongside an additional guest bathroom, with hot fresh water shower, sink and toilet. The spacious, open-plan kitchen is fitted with a gas cook-top/oven, two refrigerator/freezers, beer/wine cooler, and communal mess-table with bench seating. There is a large sliding roof-hatch that opens to the upper deck.
Upper-Deck: This extensive dry, roof deck area has many chill-out pillows, sun/rain cover and a large split table-hatch that slides open to enable access to the kitchen below. Meals on board Ikan Biru are served on the open-air on the upper deck.
Lower/Forward Deck: The covered dive-prep deck equipped with a shower.
Food: Our onboard chef will concoct delicious meals. A variety of western and Indonesian dishes will be served for you. We can accommodate our meals for special diet requirements (vegetarians, lactose intolerant, vegan…) Please let us know if you have any special requirements.

For added enjoyment and comfort, guests can charter the boat. We will provide an experienced Divemaster (or 2 depending on experience levels) and will access the further dive sites of Komodo National Park where you will enjoy the exclusivity of being the only divers on those sites.
